As much as I would like the world to be a perfect place, it is not. I am a resident who just moved from Columbus County to Charlotte, and one of the reasons why is because of the "Good ole Boy" system that still exists in Columbus County. I am sure that this missing boy's case has not been treated the same as other cases, but such is life.People really are in denial if they think that people don't get special treatment because of race/status in Columbus County. Chris Batten promises to tighten up whenever an incident happens, and he does for about a week, then it's back to normal. No more license checks, no more beefed up security, or patroling. I am glad to be gone. Rashad Delamez was a friend of my son's, and he should've been protected. Rest in peace, angel.
