Unbeaten Clemson travels north in ACC Wednesday night schedule

Story body

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Wake Forest goes out of North Carolina and Clemson comes into the state in Atlantic Coast Conference action tonight. The Demon Deacons face Vanderbilt, having won the last two meetings and three of the last four. The Tigers are in Greenville to play East Carolina for the second time ever. Last year, Clemson whipped the Pirates 74-40 in Littlejohn Coliseum, in part by limiting the Pirates to 21 percent field goal shooting. Also tonight, Syracuse is in Charlottesville to play Virginia. The two schools have only met twice, and have split the two outings. The Cavaliers won in the East Regional semifinal of the 1984 NCAA tournament. Georgia Tech goes for the 16th win in 18 games against Georgia State. In the last eight games in the series, the Yellow Jackets have averaged 103 points per game.
