Police say a North Carolina college football player and his wife confessed to murdering a South Carolina high school cheerleader. Police say 20-year-old Pernell Thompson, a junior at Wingate University, and 19-year-old Yolanda Thompson admitted to stabbing 16-year-old Marisha Jeter to death. Jeter was supposed to meet her boyfriend at a South Carolina YMCA Thursday. Her body was found Saturday in a river. The night before the Highway Patrol found Jeter's burned up Toyota Celica. Investigators say the Thompsons had doused it with gasoline and set it on fire after putting Jeter's body in the river. Police say Jeter had a long relationship with Pernell Thompson, who married Yolanda last summer.
