REIDSVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- A Duke football player is facing charges following a two-car wreck in which the driver of the other vehicle was killed.
Raphael Chestnut, a former Reidsville High School player, is charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle following the accident late Sunday morning.
The state Highway Patrol says Chestnut was driving at 65 miles per hour on US 158 in Stokesdale when his vehicle collided with a car driven by Hubert Douglas Smith of Ruffin, who died at the scene.
Chestnut wasn't seriously injured. Smith's wife and an infant in his car weren't injured.
The patrol says neither alcohol nor drugs were involved in the wreck, which happened on a curve during heavy rain.
