RALEIGH (AP) -- Wade Redden snapped a two-all tie with four-48 remaining as Ottawa pulled out a 4-to-2 win at Carolina.

The Hurricanes grabbed a 2-to-1 lead when Eric Staal and Josef Vasicek scored 19 seconds apart in the second period. But Anton Volchenkov knotted the score midway through the final period before Redden sent the Senators to their seventh victory in eight games.

Jason Spezza scored an empty-netter after setting up two goals. Dany Heatley finished with a goal and an assist for Ottawa.

The Hurricanes had been 23-and-1 when leading after two periods.
