City looks for input on new fire chief

The city of Wilmington wants to know what you want in a fire chief. The executive search firm helping the city find a replacement for retiring Cchief Sam Hill is holding two public meetings for input this week. The first meeting is tonight from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Derick G.S. Davis Center at Maides Park on Manley Avenue. You can also go to the Northeast Branch of the New Hanover County Public Library on Military Cutoff Road Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The search is expected to take three to five months.
