When my daughter was in elementary school, I would always wait with her at the bus stop. If it was raining, we'd sit in the car. Sometimes the bus was very late or didn't show at all. We had a lot of issues with the buses one year, and I do blame the administration for not communicating effectively with the bus drivers, and vice versa. Whatever the issue was, though, I took full responsibility for getting my child to school and getting myself to work on time. It's just what parents do. I know I'm sitting in judgment of this family that I know nothing about, but I think it comes down to not expecting others to do for you what you can find a way to do for yourself and your family.
