With the current county commissioners that we have in Columbus County, we are never going to be progressive. They have steadily DROVE OUT industry by taxing them to death as well as the average citizen. Yet, they are some of the highest paid county commissioners anywhere in the state!! How is that? Poorest county, terrible academic performances, some of the highest taxes, yet the economy of this county keeps wages just barely at the minimum wage or just barely above that. All the young people leave the county or stay and can barely make ends meet. These commissioners need to go, but since they went to district only voting it is virtually impossible to get them out of office. All seven vote for the taxes that affect me, but I can only vote for the one in my district. PLEASE BRING BACK AT LARGE VOTING!!!
