Wilmington to put more police in schools

WILMINGTON -- The Wilmington City Council has approved an agenda that will put a greater police presence in our schools -- and possibly city council meetings as well. The council voted Tuesday night to spend $105,000 to hire four patrol officers. Two will initially be based at New Hanover High School while the other two will rotate in middle schools. Authorities are also looking into raising the security level at City Hall in light of the mass shooting at a Missouri City Council meeting.
