Health Questions and Concerns

There are many questions, concerns and myths out there when it comes to your health. Some people say to limit your carbohydrates while others say to limit how much meat you eat and watch out for trans fats. At the same time certain oils are good for you. It can be very confusing, depending on what you hear or read. Then to make up for the unbalanced diets, we may be tempted to have an energy drink or eat a protein bar. Who is right? What is healthy? Through research and just experimenting with different types of diets I have found that eating small meals throughout the day helps boost my metabolism and keeps me from binging on one huge meal during the day or going for a bag of cookies. I try to make each meal wholesome and healthy. Almost every meal will consist of some type of complex carbohydrate, protein and calcium. I try to avoid simple carbohydrates, sugars, and high fatty foods. Who knows if I’m doing the right thing though…talk to someone else and they’ll swear by supplements, protein shakes and energy drinks. What do you think? What is your idea of nutritious meals? Do you think diet drugs, supplements, energy drinks etc. help or harm people? There are so many issues and questions out there from the use of certain prescription drugs to new ‘fad’ diets.
