GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina State's late-season run in the Atlantic Coast Conference has led to a berth in the tournament semifinals.
Gillian Goring had a career-high 22 points and 19 rebounds as the 24th-ranked Wolfpack dominated the second half to beat Florida State 76-49.
Shayla Fields added 13 of her 16 points after halftime for the fourth-seeded Wolfpack (22-8), who advanced to Saturday's semifinals.
The Wolfpack improved to 9-1 since coach Kay Yow returned from a 16-game leave of absence for treatment of breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 1987 and first recurred during the 2004-2005 season.
It was the second straight quarterfinal loss to the Wolfpack for the fifth-seeded Seminoles. Florida State trailed 27-25 at halftime but went cold in the second half. NC State closed out the game by scoring 20 of the game's final 22 points.
