Onslow County investigators broadening search for Cpl. Cesar Laurean

It's been two months since Marine Maria Lauterbach and her unborn child were murdered in Onslow county. Since that time Corporal Cesar Laurean, the only suspect in the case, has been on the run. The international search for Laurean is on, and detectives feel they're making progress. Onslow County Investigators are now broadening their search for Corporal Cesar Laurean after spending the last two months focused on finding him in Mexico. Investigators said that information that they've received on both sides of the boarders, "is being looked at and we're not going to focus our attention on one specific area, we are working at where we believe that he is but we're not going to release that information and jeopardize our investigation." Captain Sutherland said they do believe Laurean was in Mexico at one point but feel like new information has them searching in the right places. Sutherland said, "There's no way that we can put a time table on exactly when we believe that he will be captured but we do have relevant information that we think is going to lead to his capture." Onslow County Investigators are working with the F-B-I on eliminating Laurean's resources and narrowing down the ways that keep him on the run. Investigators say that Laurean has proven he can survive and adaptive to their search. Captain Sutherland also says the Sheriff's Department is also continuing it's investigation into the murder of Maria Lauterbach. They're conducting new interviews with key witnesses and are waiting for new evidence to come back from forensic labs. Investigators are still waiting for lab results from the murder weapon. the results for the paternity test of maria Lauterbach's unborn child also have not been released.
