UNDATED (AP) -- North Carolina is the only school among the NCAA tournament's four number-one seeds to graduate at least 50 percent of its players. A report released today finds 86 percent of North Carolina's men's players earned diplomas during a six-year period. The other top seeds were far worse with Kansas at 45 percent and UCLA and Memphis graduating 40 percent. The study was conducted by Richard Lapchick, who heads the University of Central Florida's Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport. The study also found that 33 schools graduated at least 70 percent of their white men's basketball players, while only 19 graduated that many black players. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
