Anyway, my comment wasn't about the seniors vs soccer issue in Southport, per se. I don't care what happens in Southport, as I am not a Southport resident. It is their issue, not mine. Let them decide it.
I only took exception to the notion expressed by at least two posters, that senior citizens somehow deserve greater respect than anyone else.
If the senior center prevails, let it be because Southport NEEDS it more than they need those three soccer fields, not because the seniors somehow deserve it more than the kids.
None of us "deserve" anything.
