Well, here the County goes again! Another sheriff caught with his hand in the cookie jar again. Takes us back to the 70's and a former sheriff who had a very profitable sideline business using his personnel for guarding the coast for his drug running business. How familiar!!! Taking a 17 year old to a hostage situation is even more crazy. It would be like taking a 2 year old to a fire scene. Maybe it is time for the State of North Carolina to take a STRONG look at doing away with electing sheriffs and making requiring the county that they work for hire them just like any other employee. Sheriffs have way too much power now and it seems to go to a lot of heads. Time to make some modern changes to the good ole boys system
