I am glad to see this story getting some attention. Most everyone else can just pass the rising cost of their business on to their customers. With larger trucking companies able to operate cheaper..we small owner operators can't raise our rates to recoup any of the rising costs. I am loosing over $250 a week out of my meager take home check(from all of the exorbitent fees our wonderful government keeps singleing our industry out for) just in the past 2 months alone. Over the course of this year, my bottom line has dropped over $15K. How many of you could afford that kind of pay cut? We need the support of all Americans to say enough is enough. Remember, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, a truck driver delivered it somewhere for YOU. No truck drivers=no products. One last thing, there were a WHOLE lot more than a dozen local drivers not running today-myself included.
