I worked for Old Dominion (Rapid Transport) right out of high school (25+ years ago) in the payroll dept. The guys complained about fuel then too. I paid the trip-lease guys, the ones that did not work for OD but used us to get loads back home from another delivery. These truckers basically bid on trips unless they work for a line. The lowest bidder will win and the fuel costs are still the same. The money comes right out of their profits. I never complain about trucks on the road, I darn sure would not want to drive one. If they all stop we all starve. You think food prices are high now? Hell the government subsidizes everything, so why not fuel for the men/women that keep America moving?
