WILMINGTON -- Francis Hill says, "We are going to dance until our hearts don't let us. Because we've got some old people here." Grab your poodle skirts and bobbi socks and get ready to sock hop! That's how local Tileston graduates are spending their Saturday night. Even though the party hasn't started yet, they are already dancing. It's the first Tileston Junior High reunion, and former students from the forties, fifties and sixties are kids again for one more night. Hill says, "We had the type of relationship with a school that no one else had. It was more like family than anything else." Once all the balloons are blown up, and the disco lights are turned on, Tileston alums plan on making this a tradition that will last through the years. One they can pass on to their own children and grandchildren. Those who helped plan the reunion expect almost five hundred people to attend the hop. David Grice is Francis Hill's grandson, and he was on board today to help his grandma decorate for her big night. "They made guitars, they made big cups...they made tons and tons of cool stuff, there were balloons all over the place... and it was so, so, so fun!" Some former students hung old cheerleading uniforms, right next to the old class pictures. Bringing years of memories right back.
