Story body

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- It's the march of the lower seeds in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

Early this morning, 11th-seeded Wake Forest completed the sweep of the lower-seeded teams when it took a 114-112 victory over sixth-seeded Georgia Tech in double overtime.

Florida State began the advance when the ninth-seeded Seminoles knocked off eight-seeded Clemson 67-66 to help launch the first ACC tournament ever held in Florida.

Last-place Miami pulled off the shocker of the day, beating fifth-seeded Maryland 67-62.

North Carolina State was the 10th seed, and the Wolfpack parlayed it into an 85-80 victory over seventh-seeded Duke in overtime.

Today's schedule opened at noon with Florida State playing top-seeded North Carolina. Fourth-seeded Boston College plays Miami at 2:30. Second-seeded Virginia will play NC State to open the night session, followed by Wake Forest going against third-seeded Virginia Tech.
