Memorial Day Saturday at Wrightsville Beach

SOMETIMES THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE WORTH WAITING FOR. ON THIS DAY... TO ENJOY THE SUNSHINE ... YOU HAD TO WAIT TO MID-AFTERNOON.. "This is Memorial Day and it's about America and our veterans going to battle and giving us the opportunity to live the American dream and have a good time and that's why I'm here." "we were so bored, we had to find something cool to do so we came here to laugh at all the cool, cute college people here and enjoy ourselves and feel young again. But you had to wait til this afternoon when the sun came out to enjoy yourselves, right? We did." AND COME OUT THEY DID... LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON BEACH GOERS CAME OUT OF THE WOODWORK TO GO TO THE BEACH.... "how was the surfing today? It started off pretty bad, but then the weather got good and the waves started picking up a bit. So the waves picked up. Did traffic pick up at Wrightsville Beach when the sun came out? Looks like it." AND ONCE THE BEACH FILLED UP.... WE WERE CURIOUS TO KNOW IF THE HIGH PRICE OF GAS HAD AN IMPACT ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TRAVEL PLANS.. "no we had to come, to see our friends, to hang out and have a good time, you can't beat friends on memorial day weekend, definitely not." "did the high price of gas influence your decision to come to Wrightsville Beach this weekend? No my parents drove, oh the parents drove, did the parents pay for the gas too? They sure did." "did you spend any money here at the beach? Yes I got some new shoes and a bathing suit? Are you going to be here all weekend? yes." AND SPENDING MONEY KEEPS THE WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH ECONOMY HEALTHY... IN FACT THE CLOUDY WEATHER SATURDAY MORNING DROVE PEOPLE TO SHOP.... "I think the weather helped our business a little bit because people were out off of the beach and roaming around the local businesses, it was surprisingly good." AND THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS EVENING'S BEACH REPORT IS THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR TOMORROW. IT SHOULD EVEN BETTER TOMORROW THAN IT WAS TODAY.
