I totally agree, we pay more than double gas taxes than some other states in the South...so where is our money really going? I'm from Columbus County and when I left there five years ago, an unbelievable amount of roads were still dirt. Now I'm here in Wilm, even though most of the roads here are paved, I have to worry about bridges that are in so bad of condition that I'm nervous when I drive over them. So What is the state doing with the money we pay on gas taxes? I know from experience that our neighboring states have much cheaper gas taxes and much better roads. There's something wrong with this picture!!!
