I'm for drilling. It's very practical. I lived in CA. The oil (and asphalt) that are on the CA coast are natural release from the oil ponds off-shore. The drilling off_shore actually reduces the pressure on the oil pond caps and reduces the amount of oil residue that was found there as recently as the 60s before the first (1970s) big energy crisis.
