Update on drowning at fishing tournament

The funeral arrangements have been made for 62-year-old Billy Scott Hewett. Hewett died Saturday after his boat capsized in rough seas during a fishing tournament. The accident happened about a mile north of Lighthouse Rock in Brunswick County. According to the Coast Guard, Hewett was not wearing a life jacket. Two other people were in the boat when it capsized, Charles Osborne, and John Dozier. They were both wearing life jackets and survived. Hewett's funeral will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Shallotte.
