Digital Coupon Day

READ MORE:
In an effort to help as many New Hanover County residents learn more about the imminent transition of the Wilmington television market to the all digital platform, the New Hanover Human Relations Commission has worked with staff from the Federal Communications Commission to organize DTV Coupon Day. Representatives from the FCC will be on hand at the following locations in Wilmington today to help New Hanover County residents, particularly the elderly and disabled, apply for a $40 coupon toward the purchase of a digital converter box. 9:00 - 11:00 Senior Center, 2222 South College Road. 1:00 - 3:00 First Baptist Missionary Church,520 North 5th Avenue. 4:00 - 6:00 St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 601 Grace Street. 7:30 - 9:30 Warner Temple AME Zion Church, 620 Nixon Street. The early digital transition in the Wilmington television market means those who rely solely on an outdoor antenna or rabbit ears for television reception will lose an important source of information during the height of the tropical weather season. The switch does not affect those homes already with cable or satellite service. For even more information about the Digital Transition call 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) or go to www.dtv.gov /wilmington.
