I would have to agree. Basing someone's ability to parent a child shouldn't be based on a Myspace page. This young adult is willing to stand up and take responsibility for a member of her family. I feel for the foster mother because I am sure she has invested a lot into this child and loves this child as her own. However, I was raised that family is very important. I don't know if the foster mother has made an effort to get to know the sister but if she hasn't then she should before making any rush to judgments based on a website such as myspace.
However, while I believe in family, I also have distrust in the Dept of Social Services - ANY DSS. We have seen too many times where DSS has not stepped in and it has ended in tragedy. And I have seen where they stepped in where they had no business. While the foster mother needs to be mindful of the rights of the sister to have custody of the child, both the sister and foster mother need to be wary of the dept of social services.
