WILMINGTON -- Curious about the Cape Fear? You can now be a Cape Fear explorer.
Wilmington area attractions are launching the Cape Fear Explorer passport program to try and increase interest in the Cape Fear's numerous tourist destinations.
To get involved with the program, pick up a copy of the cape fear explorers passport at the visitor center.
You just visit a participating site, and have your passport stamped.
Six stamps gets you a cape fear explorer patch.
There are 31 participating sites across four counties.
Explorer project manager Suesan Sullivan said, "I think that the community can really see in one piece the rich diversity of cultural offerings that we have and hopefully get them excited about visiting the attractions with the goal of getting six stamps and getting this really cool patch. And it's a really fun thing for families and youth groups and people to do together."
The passport program begins Saturday, March 24.
