My son had the same problem in 1998. He married a Colombian when he was working in Aruba. I could not believe he was having such a hard time. Had he not been married there would not have been the same problem. He was like a leach with the immigration and his congressman and some how he got to the right person at the top and the process was speeded up. My daughter-in-law became a US citizen and this is behind them but it was a nightmare. It is so strange that we treat honest people this way and we allow the bad ones to walk freely in and out of our country.
