FCC holds DTV Coupon Days

READ MORE:
As the digital switch draws closer, the Federal Communications Commission is making stops around the area to make sure everyone is informed. Today FCC representatives were in Wilmington, visiting Solomon Towers and the Wrightsboro Volunteer Fire Department . Residents were educated on how to get DTV coupons and hook up a converter box. The help was well received. Wilmington resident Dessadra McGee said, "By the government doing this, it's really helping people, because a lot of people cannot afford to go out and buy those converter boxes on their own." Analog signals will be turned off at noon on September 8. FCC reps will be at the Wrightsboro Fire Department until 6:00 p.m. this evening. Tomorrow coupon days will take place at Hillcrest Apartments and James Walker Apartments in Wilmington. On Friday, you can stop by the New Hanover County Senior Center for info.
