Update: New details in case of remains found off Carolina Beach Road

Police have new leads today generated by our story last night on the investigation surrounding human remains found off of Carolina Beach Road. Police can not go into detail about calls they received, but any information could help in this investigation. In June police had probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the home, car, and storage unit of Timothy Iannone. They seized several items. Iannone has a prior sex crime conviction and police say a number of women have accused him of sexually assaulting them and threatening their lives. Police have reason to believe he may know something about the disappearances of two missing women, Angela Rothen and Allison Jackson Foy. Police think human remains found in the woods off Carolina Beach Road in April could be those of the two women. According to the search warrant, Iannone may have known the two, but until the remains are officially identified, police are at a bit of standstill. WWAY spoke with Iannone yesterday and he adamantly denies any connection to the murders. Police questioned him about Foy's disappearance before the remains were found and his family says he passed a lie detector test.
