Straight from the IRS in July of 2008 - for tax year 2006, the top 50% of all Americans pay 97.01% of all personal income taxes. The bottom 50% pay a mere 2.99%. Do the poor and middle class have ANY obligation to support this country?
As far as treating corporations more harshly, who do you think is going to hire you? Some big, mean, evil corporation....or Barack Obama?
Let's take but one corporation Comrade Obama hates, ExxonMobil. He has proudly proclaimed how he will take away any tax break and sock them with a windfall profits tax. After all, they made $70.5 billion dollars last year! Oh, but wait....that was PRE-tax income.
Here's what Obama and the main-stream media won't tell you - they also paid $29.9 billion in taxes, reducing their net income to $40 billion.
Nearly $30 billion in taxes. That's 42% of their pre-tax income.
Meanwhile, the "poor and middle class" are paying only 3% of the personal income taxes collected?
The problem obviously ISN'T corporate tax rates. The problem is a majority of the country not paying taxes, with a sizeable portion of that number soaking up benefits that are sucking the system dry.
Trust me, neither those evil wealthy people nor big corporations are having more babies to put on Medicaid, increase their food vouchers, or get more WIC coupons.
Forty-seven years after John F. Kennedy made his famous inaugural speech, in which he intoned, "Ask not what your country can do for you...." Barack Obama is buying votes by promising an economic policy based entirely upon wealth redistribution.
God save this nation!
The poor DON'T hold the burden
