This director needs to not promote protection orders unless she has the opportunity to go into more detail about when they are best and when they are not. If she truly believes they are always best, she is misguided, despite her job.
Our high-risk cases are often advised NOT to get an order, and guided on how to GET AWAY. Again this director poo-poos trying to set a DISTANCE between the one who is feared and the one fearing for her life.
Bad advice. Distance does help.
It helps a lot.
This should be a time we discuss being wiser instead of pushing easy sentences at people who still live in fear, don't know what to do, and are so so so vulnerable to bad guidance.
