New Hanover County High Schools have a new addition this school year. Students will be able to take state approved honors and AP level courses online.Kids will be able to earn high school and college credit. Administrators say the option is especially good for students who have to stay home because of a long- term illness. The online classes will also offer choices not currently available at all high schools. While the program may be convenient, the classes will not be easy. New Hanover High Asst. Principal Philip Sutton said, "It is a very rigorous curriculum and requires students to be very motivated, very self disciplined so it may not be the perfect situation for every student." The online courses are offered free of charge in all New Hanover County High Schools. Call your school if you are interested. A parent/student information session is going on right now at New Hanover High School. If you can not get over there tonight, another session takes place tomorrow at 4 p.m.
