Scientists identify remains found off Carolina Beach Road

A major development in the investigation into two sets of human remains found off Carolina Beach Road back in April. One set of remains belongs to Angela Rothen. Rothen was 43 when she disappeared in June of 2007. Scientists from the University of North Texas have been working to identify the remains for months. Wilmington Police sent Rothen's file to the State Medical Examiners office, so it's clear they had an inkling hers was one of those bodies. The medical examiner also received the file of Alison Jackson Foy. She was last seen at Junction Billiards sports bar in Monkey Junction in July of 2006. The second set of remains has not yet been identified. Police say the one positive ID does not significantly change the status of their investigation.
