WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH -- Beachgoers at Wrightsville Beach have a new place to sit besides the hot sand.
Crews installed 15 wooden benches on the beach this week. The benches go from Stone Street to Greensboro Street.
Wrightsville Beach Town Manager Bob Simpson says they are a donation from the Wrightsville Beach Merchants Association.
So far, the benches seem to be a big hit.
Wrightsville Beach visitor Mimi Hofing said, "It's just a nice asset to the beach. Many people come in the mornings and maybe have coffee and it's just a nice wisdom, thinking benches."
All of the benches are marked by the street name they are in front of, which may help people remember where they are parked.
