Senator Burr in Wilmington

US Senator Richard Burr visited the Port City today. Burr spoke to the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce about what he sees as the biggest issues facing North Carolina and the country. Health care, energy policy, education and growing the economy top his list. The Senator also said that because the difference between the candidates is so significant, this is the most important presidential election of his life. "I think the key seems to be emerging on two fronts. One: who are the American people comfortable with being commander-in-chief. And two: who has a successful approach to end the energy crisis that's crippling American families," said Burr. Burr leaves Monday for Minnesota, where he will spend the week co-chairing the Republican Party's Platform Committee ahead of the full Republican National Convention, which starts September 1.
