Local students will be heading back to school next week. Many are spending their last days of summer break - at summer camp. The YWCA in Wilmington finished up its Eco Camp today. This group has spent the last five weeks giving back to the environment, by taking part in community awareness projects like beach sweeps. They picked up trash, and turned it into art. Camper Alex Pratte said, "It's a really good camp that helps our environment and we try to do everything we can to help people." "I've had parents come back with facts and information that they've learned from their children and that's really impressive," said camper Winter Davis. Camp leaders hope the kids leave camp knowing ways they can minimize their impact on the environment.
