In Columbus County their are people who count and those who do not. Recently a 22 year old boy was found hanging in his back yard. This was treated as a sucide even though the police had been called the night before because of a violent altercation between him and his live in girlfriends family and new boyfriend. The cause of death was affixation not a broken neck. When a neighbor finally saw the young man hanging and called the police, his girlfriend and her new boyfriend came out of the house together. According to the Columbus County Law Enforcement there was no reason to question this death. I wonder how many questions would have been raised if the young man's last name would have been Batten, Hill, or Soles?
