Hurricanes come off 4-day break to resume drive for playoffs

RALEIGH (AP) -- There are nine games left for the Carolina Hurricanes to secure their spot in the NHL playoffs. The first of those nine is tonight at home against the Washington Capitals.

The last time Carolina had a four-day break, the 'Canes returned to the ice and took a 3-0 victory over Washington on March 9th.

Beginning tonight's action, the Hurricanes are in the eighth and final playoff position, but in a three-way tie with Toronto and Montreal. Each has 80 points.

Montreal has won four of its last five and is at Boston tonight. Toronto is at Buffalo tomorrow night.
