Baked Pears


2 Bartlett pears, or other variety of your choice
2 tbsp raisins, preferably golden
1 tbsp nuts, walnuts or peanuts preferably
1 tbsp sugar (white or brown)
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp boiling water

Slice pears in half horizontally and remove the seed. Combine all other ingredients except water and place in the pear cavity. Place pear halves in a casserole dish, pour boiling water around the pears and sprinkle the surface of the pears with white or brown sugar. Wrap with aluminum foil and cook at 375 degrees for 25 minutes, removing foil for the last five minutes of baking.
