Community colleges could lift ban on illegal immigrants

Why should they be allowed to have an education in OUR country! They are here illegally! I don't care if the those that enter our country legally get what is available here as long as they are going by the rules. The rest of us have to follow the rules and laws, what makes them so special? As for the legislators pushing for it? Yes they are. Why you may ask? Because they are afraid of losing the vote of those who are here legally. And many of the legal residents are sheltering and providing for those here illegally. This is why we need to vote these people out of office. WE as AMERICAN CITIZENS need to get off our butts and show the legislators on all levels of government that we aren't going to take it anymore!!!! VOTE THEM OUT!!!!! I have never been one for getting involved in political arguments or even discussing politics but I'm getting over that! I can not stand the way things are going. Our personal freedoms, rights as Americans are being trampled and most of us can only sit around and moan and groan about it. Well stop sitting around. GET INVOLVED!!!!!! Go to the rallies! Go to your local representatives and tell them you aren't going to take it anymore! That you want a change you can believe in (and NO I'm NOT an OBAMA supporter!) We are getting a change all right but Obama is NOT giving us a change we can believe in and I never thought he would!

I wonder how many of these illegal alien college students would get FREE PELL GRANT money all the while further limiting enrollment for AMERICAN CITIZENS?? Obama has expanded the PELL grant funds. NCCC "leaders" simply want to cash in on some of that grant money by registering illegal aliens. Rising demand for higher education leads to significantly higher costs. When someone else is paying the bills, costs always rise! Not only will your child miss out on classes due to enrollement----but you the tax payer will get to help foot the bill. The day my son got his DECLINE letter to UT in Austin, we saw an illegal on the news get accepted to UT with a FULL scholarship. Don't let what is happening in other states like Texas happen here in North Carolina.

Here we go again. The liberal element feels we should use our tax money to support illegals both in education and all other facets of life. This is the exact tactic that bankrupted the state of California. NC will be next.

if we all would let our morals be our compass then maybe we would see that all human beings deserve the same rights. everyone contributes to the economy legal or illegal everytime they shop and if illegals were given the chance to pay extra taxes to be able to live a decent life, they would so gladly pay.

I am a college graduate and I still have to work two jobs to get by. I pay a fortune to have health care for myself and my family. Sometimes necessary office visits are delayed because of cost. I don't see the same happening for the ILLEGALs here in Wilmington. Visit the emergency room and take a look around at all the friends of yours using their fake ids - another expense to our community because those bills will never be paid!!! Illegal - does that not say volumes?

When will "We the people" stand up and say enough is enough. Probably when it's too late. These undocumented illegals have been putting a strain on our country for far too long. My son has been a student at CFCC for 2 years. He was born in NC and has paid taxes here since he was 16. If his chance of getting into any class was diminished because an ILLEGAL was in the spot that would be a SLAP IN THE FACE to him and the rest of his family that came here from EUROPE LEGALLY in the 60's. If people want to be American then JOIN US legally like the millions of people that came before you, get a SS#, pay your taxes and then apply to school. This idea is ridiculous and wrong.

What part of [illegal immigrant] don't the Policy Committee for the State Board of Community Colleges understand?...And why would they waste time discussing whether or not an illegal immigrant should be allowed to take classes at a Community College? ... Why should they? Do they pay taxes? Do they have a social security card? How would they have a US High School Diploma anyway? Can someone explain this?

It is reasonable to believe that our country should consider it's citizens FIRST, before any consideration for the needs of foreigners here from other countries. It is reasonable to provide social services to American citizens FIRST, before providing for the needs of illegal immigrants and their offspring. It is reasonable to make sure our laws are enforced equally for everyone, not that people here illegally get a free pass because the police don't want to enforce certain laws they prefer to ignore. It is reasonable to expect our government representatives to put the needs of the voters before the special interest groups that contribute to their campaigns. But this is not a reasonable country. The unreasonable forces are persuasive and the voices of the voters are drown out by the loud screams from special interest groups that just want masses from other countries to trample our rights and overtake our land. It's reasonable to get very mad about that.

Those are not immigrants but a invading horde of Illegal Aliens! American tax payers cannot provide free health to non-citizens no matter from where, or what race! Our government fails the most basic and primary task & duty of government, to protect this Nation and its Citizens from invasion and enforce its laws. They refuse to abide by our Constitution, refuse to enforce our Immigration Laws and refuse to honor their Oath of Office! Our Government, past & present, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 20 to 30 million criminals and uneducated peons which is the largest invasion of any Nation, at any time, by any means & in direct violation of Article IV, Section IV of our Constitution. This refusal to abide by our Constitution or enforce our Immigration Laws should be classified as Treason of the most foul kind, & as grounds for impeachment & trials for Treason! Not only have they allowed the invasion, they force American tax payers to pay Billions on Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison cells, Educate the invaders numerous children, and free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws and massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens at an rate the terrorist can only dream about. Recent statements in Mexico from both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary something needs to be done. "Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the deaths of police officers, soldiers, and civilians," Hillary whined. But no mention, whines, concern or care that their refusal to stop the Massive Invasion of Illegal Aliens pouring across our borders or enforce our immigration laws that causes an estimated 25 Americans deaths per day and 10,s of thousands victims of Assault, Robberies, Rapes, Identify thief, and other assorted crimes committed by the invading horde of Illegal Aliens from Mexico on American citizens each year! It is a telling indictment & shows their Empathy & Compassion of our Politicians & their priorities are not for the American citizens when they express more concern over Mexicans deaths mostly connected to the Drug trade, than the murders, havoc & crimes of Illegal Aliens against American Citizens! The Democrats view the invading horde of Criminals and Uneducated third world rejects as Undocumented Welfare Democrats & the Republicans as Undocumented Slave labor for their Pay Masters in the Chamber of Commerce & Businesses! Most of our Politicians in Wash. DC are wading knee deep in innocent American blood and suffering because they put Self Interest ahead of the interest of American Citizens & the future of this Nation! The Citizens of this Nation have not sacrificed with blood, sweat & tears for over 200 years & obeyed the Laws of the land, paid the taxes, and fought the wars & built this Nation to see Corrupt politicians turn this Nation into the United States of Mexico without a shot being fired, to serve their demented, nefarious goals and lust for power!

Folks, we as Americans should know that you CANNOT pick and choose which laws you want to follow and which laws you do NOT want to follow. Our schools are overcrowded with them! they get free foodstamps! free medical! free places to live! why would they NOT want these things?? it is TIME for them to GO HOME! Let mexico deal with its own, or they can go their and change thier own country! As an American Citizen iam TIRED of footing the bill here! where in the CONSTITUTION does it say "sneak across the border, drop a child and get free living, compliments of the U.S.Taxpayer??? what did our forefathers fight and die for?? this SNAFU? tell your Non-representing -representatives that it is time to FOLLOW THE LAW! every last one of them that set foot across our border BROKE THE LAW! they need to be apprehended, deported, and if they come back, build a prison in MEXICO and let them take care of their own!

I don't understand why this is a issue, I have had to show my daughter's last year tax return and also mine to get her in. CFCC now you want people that are no legal to get the free aid and move my student, All the school is looking for is numbers and money. If you show that you legal and stay in this country and work pay taxes you shouldn't be here at all

So glad to know that the degree I obtained from CFCC will now be devalued as any illegal immigrant can get a degree and compete with me in the marketplace, all the while not paying taxes yet reaping the same benefits I get. Great idea guys!!!!
