Convention center hotel still up in the air

There still is no word as to what kind of hotel will be built next to the convention center. The Wilmington River Group had until Tuesday to provide a million dollars in financial security in the form of a bond or letter of credit. The money would show the developer had the ability to open the hotel doors within three months of the convention center opening. But as of Tuesday morning, council still had not received the letter. If the Wilmington River Group delivers the credit security to council before it's meeting Tuesday night, it is still up to the city to decide if they want the Hotel Indigo.

Hotel

The longer they put it off, the better. There will be about 14 people at the first convention. Maybe the city could lease the front lawn of the convention center to KAO Campgrounds. A truely "green" convention center!

The convention center will be an absolute failure! There will not be enough consistent bookings for it to be financially viable. This is a very poor business plan implemented by an imcompetent city council and King Billy! They will be lucky if anyone signs on to construct a hotel once they review the plan.
