Brunswick County Commissioners voted 3-2 Monday to proceed with the $3.5 million purchase of nearly 35 acres for a nature park near Holden Beach, despite threats of legal action by county residents.

Woman accused of coercing teen to run away

Brunswick County Sheriff detectives have arrested a woman they said is linked to a missing teenager. Dana Nichole Grabowski of Leland is charged with abduction of a child, common law obstruction of justice, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Brunswick Co. man named chairman of State Ports Authority

Gov. Pat McCrory has named Tom Adams of Brunswick County the next chairman of the North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors, according to a news release sent by the governor's office.
