South Brunswick football standout dies in overnight shooting

Brunswick County judge accuses DA of running a scheme

videoIt sounds like something out of a crime novel. A Brunswick County judge is accusing the District Attorney of running a scheme. According to Chief District Court Judge Jerry Jolly, Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David is initiating a scheme that would help profit one of his 2010 campaign contributors.

Richard Constantineau is charged with felony death by vehicle, DWI and driving left of center in the death of Stephanie Heath. Last month a trooper stopped Constantineau in Pender County after he ran his moped into a ditch.

Students take part in mock Congressional hearing

Eighth graders at Leland middle school took part in a mock congressional hearing. The event is part of a lesson that taught the kids how to write a speech and effectively present views on an issue.

videoOak Island celeb Jenelle Evans is off the hook for charges of possessing marijuana and breaking and entering. A judge dropped both charges today in exchange for her pleading guilty to having drug paraphernalia.

BCC narrows president search to six

The search for a new President of Brunswick Community College has entered its final stage with the selection of six highly-qualified finalists. All six finalists will spend a day at BCC’s main campus in Supply, including a Community Meet and Greet from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and a Faculty and Staff Meet and Greet from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
