No one hurt in apartment fire

Wilmington firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 1328 Wellington Ave. around 6:19 this morning. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the area where it started.

video Rain on Tuesday forced the biggest high school tennis match of the season to date in Wilmington to be played on Wednesday. Hoggard has five consecutive conference titles, but their hold on the streak was in jeopardy due to a surging New Hanover squad.

Landfill to do electronic recycling weekly

Do you have electronics you need to get rid of, but you're not sure where to dispose of them properly? Well, starting today and continuing each Wednesday, New Hanover County residents can drop off electronic waste for free at the landfill off US 421 North.

Crews respond to gas leak in Wilmington

The Wilmington Fire Department says crews from Piedmont Gas have repaired a gas leak on Colwell Ave. WFD crews evacuated nearby homes and businesses, but everyone has now been allowed to return home.
