Cape Fear Garden Club honors founders on Arbor Day

Every Arbor Day, the Cape Fear Garden Club plants a tree to honor a person or event. This morning, it replaced a dead oak with a vibrant, young one at Oakdale Cemetery.

Cynthia Cooper-Dyke continues to work magic as the head coach of the UNC Wilmington women's basketball team. The Seahawks will be advancing to the second round of the WNIT. UNCW will host Eastern Michigan on Monday at Trask Coliseum.

Irish family continues tradition of celebrating heritage

St. Patrick's Day is not just a day to wear green and drink beer. For many it's a day to celebrate their Irish heritage. Owners of the Irish store Sinead's Cottage on Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington say today is a celebration of where they come from.

ONLY ON 3: Critics say WPD underestimating gang problem

videoWe told you last night about a fight on 12th Street in Wilmington involving about 50 young people. Many neighbors told us the fights were directly related to gangs and they happen every day, but a Wilmington Police spokeswoman said the fight was not gang-related.

A Dunn convenience store owner faces theft and fraud charges after he allegedly kept a customer's winning lottery ticket for himself, police said Thursday.
