New Hanover County is trying to spread the word about its sales and use tax referendum on the May ballot. County spokesman Mark Boyer says the county is making brochures in-house to help educate the public about the proposed sales tax.
In November the county signed on with Colonial Marketing Group of Wilmington to help raise awareness about county services. The marketing firm is now helping with the proposed sales tax as well. The county's contract with Colonial ends at the end of April.
