Credit education company to open call center, create jobs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- American Credit Financial says it will open a new call center in Wilmington and hire 70 people within the next year. The credit education company tries to teach customers how to fix their bad credit.

The company plans to hire about 40 local employees right away and will hire 30 more in about six months. American Credit Financial will open its call center at the Murrayville Station Business Park off College Road. The jobs will pay 12 to 14 dollars an hour.

CEO Dwayne Furmidge, a Wilmington resident, says the company will hold a job fair, but no date has been set. To apply now you can call (910) 399-6280. Furmidge says job training is available, but credit knowledge is a plus.

American Credit Financial currently has a B- rating with the local Better Business Bureau.
