WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- There are only two days before Christmas, and it's getting to be crunch time for those last-minute shoppers.
Christmas shopping for friends and family is taxing enough. But some folks say this is the only time they can do it.
Judy Andel was out shopping for her husband Thursday. She says she wishes she could have finished her shopping earlier, but really had no choice.
"I didn't have time before today, because I've been busy with entertaining and things," says Andel.
Others say they intentionally wait until right before Christmas to find gifts, in hopes of saving a little money in the process.
"The sales are really good right now, and a lot of the stores are taking additional percentages off," says last-minute shopper Lisa Bullard. "I'm really big on finding the best deals."
Extended store hours and massive discounts right before Christmas give shoppers an extra incentive to wait to buy presents.
However, with the struggling economy, some shoppers say they have had to scale back on gift-giving this holiday season.
"This year we have not had quite as much to spend on people as we have in the past, but that just means everything means so much more," says last-minute shopper, Allison Bennett.
