Wilmington is hosting filmmakers from around the world this week, for the 14th annual Cucalorus Film Festival. There are 157 films in this year's festival, including features, documentaries, comedies, and short films. They will be shown at a variety of Wilmington venues. The filmmakers range from students to professionals. Festival director, Dan Brawley, said it is all about sharing stories, and people are coming here from as far away as Italy, Spain, and Germany to do so. "We have these films from all over the world, and you do see the differences, but the differences tend to be pretty small, and similarities are what really kind of bring people together. So at the festival, the filmmakers are there are you get to talk to them and you really find out that we all live in a common culture," said Brawley. Cucalorus kicks off Wednesday and runs through Saturday. You can find out more information by visiting the Cucalorus Film Festival website.
