Autopsy results of the Hampstead woman found dead in her home show she was sexually assaulted. Fifty-two-year-old Beverly Moore was found dead in the bathtub of her home, on Sloop Point Road, Sunday night. While the cause of death has not been determined, detectives said assault was a contributing factor. Investigators with the Pender County Sheriff's Office are currently following up on leads. Moore was married with three children. "We have a dead mother, and we have a family who is wanting answers and we're working as hard as we can to give them those answers,” said Pender County Sheriff’s Office Detective Scott Lawson. “We're not going to jump to conclusions and we're not going to rush to any judgment, but we realize that the family wants answers and we're going to do everything we can to give them that.” Moore's three teenage children are currently with family. Neighbors we spoke with did not want to appear on camera, but said they often heard sounds of fighting coming from the home. Detectives said what has happened previously at the house is part of the investigation.
